Oh we do like to Samba by the Seaside! Click here to hear us play!Samba by the Seaside

Do you like Samba? Do you like the drums? Do you like the energy you can feel when listening to a Samba Band? Are you stopped in your tracks walking down the street and you just have to listen to the Samba drums?

You have arrived at West Lothian’s Original Samba Band: Sambalistic described as “an explosion of truly rhythmic and captivating sounds of Brazil” by the organizers of the Aberdour Festival. “Just try and stop your body joining in” they went on to say as Sambalistic led their annual parade through the town.

Our band was formed in 1999 following a workshop organised by West Lothian Councils Arts Unit. Since then, we have grown from strength to strength and bring the exciting and captivating sounds of samba to any occasion. You’ll catch us livening up gala days, major sporting events and music festivals across Scotland.

Do you want to have a go yourself? Feel free to come along! In the past few months, several new members joined the band and they are absolutely loving it! You don’t need any musical knowledge – just passion for the drums – and a little bit of rhythm! We can provide beginners samba workshops for new members. All you have to do is bring enthusiasm and a sense of fun.

During school terms, we practice every Thursday evening – from 7.30 pm until 9.30 pm – at Linlithgow Academy (in the main assembly hall or the library). The 1st Thursday of every month is an open night for anyone wanting to give it a go – so just turn up or drop us an email at sambalistic@live.com if you have any questions or need further information.
